John
Bishop is a native Virginian currently residing in Radford. After studying
web design and graphic design John chose to pursue his life long passion
for painting. John has been creating various forms of art most of his
life starting in early childhood. He has been painting professionally
since 2005.
John is a self-taught artist with no formal training.
He prefers abstract because he feels it allows for more flexibility and
creativity. John also paints realistic landscapes, wildlife and portraits.
Johns’ favorite medium is oil however he also enjoys working with
acrylic and charcoal. His use of bright vivid colors gives each painting
a positive and uplifting sensation. John truly enjoys painting and creating
art. Johns’ inspirations come from his imagination, emotions, nature
and dreams. His works represent the unseen and are open to many interpretations.
Johns’ creations are sometimes complete in his mind before putting
them on canvas but mostly they are spontaneous. His work is in several
private collections in the United States, Canada, Ireland and England.
